Shining above her obvious talent, Mindy’s beautiful spirit attracts producers and directors to bring her to their projects. Noted for her smart, patient, nurturing approach as a costume designer and stylist, she is currently an Associate Professor of Costume Design at the renowned Carnegie Mellon University where she earned her MFA in Costume and Scenic Design. Her ability to be flexible and improvise creative solutions has resulted in the development of projects that have taken her around the globe. She has worked with a multitude of talent from the likes of Christopher Walken, Natalie Portman, George Clooney, Sally Field. and Benicio del Toro. Blessed by projects with directors such as Mike Judge, Abel Ferrara, Todd Field and Lance Acord, collaboration and innovation are her forte. Based out of Los Angeles and Pittsburgh, one of her latest endeavors involves designing a VISA spot with NFL's Antonio Brown and Malcolm Butler in and out of uniform.
Mindy may be best known for her work on the cult classic OFFICE SPACE. She is recognized for her ability to create specialty costumes so visual effects can make the impossible believable—as in the award-winning ADIDAS’ Laila vs Ali, where we seem to time travel with Laila as she spars with her father back to 1963 or her transformation of a 2’10” little person into the viral sensation, guitar-playing baby for GUITAR HERO. This highly respected designer enjoys thinking outside of the box to colaborate on new ways of storytelling. Her design for the mini-Darth Vader spot for VOLKSWAGEN is acclaimed as the most viral Super Bowl add ever! Mindy’s extensive work in feature films, theater, television, print and commercials shows her enthusiasm in taking an innovative vision from the collaborative medium of the production world, and masterfully sculpting three-dimensional characters that seamlessly support the story. As a visual communicator, she is at the top of her game.
